Nonprofit Resources of the Week – 6/7/25

Stay informed of the week’s notable events and shared resources with this curated list of Nonprofit Resources of the Week.

Notable Nonprofit Posts, Articles, & Other Resources:

Testimony of Diane Yentel, President and CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits Before the House Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) Hearing on “Public Funds, Private Agendas: NGOs Gone Wild” [Ed. As one can tell from the title of the hearing, there is no question about DOGE’s disinterest in learning about the essential need and impact of America’s nonprofit sector. The Guardian describes the hearing in the following article: Marjorie Taylor Greene accused of assembling ‘rogues’ gallery’ to attack NGOs. Thank you to Diane Yentel (listed on the DOGE Subcommittee hearing page as “Minority Witness”) and the National Council of Nonprofits for speaking on this regardless. Diane’s testimony contains valuable information that needs to be shared with all of our representatives and the general public.]

Together We Stand (David V. Johnson, SSIR) [Ed. SSIR editors state their stand against the rise of authoritarianism in the United States and refer to one of the publication’s new articles, The Future of Innovation Is Collective, as highlighting the way forward.]

  • “Ukraine said it secretly planted a swarm of drones in Russia and then unleashed them in a surprise attack on Sunday, hitting airfields from eastern Siberia to Russia’s western border. … The assault set several Russian aircraft on fire, stunned the Kremlin and dealt a strategic and symbolic blow to Moscow’s relentless bombing campaign in Ukraine. … Ukraine said that 117 drones were used in the attacks, causing about $7 billion in damage.” NY Times
  • “A man posing as a gardener to get close to a group in Boulder holding their weekly demonstration for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza planned to kill them all with Molotov cocktails, authorities said Monday. … Twelve people were injured in the Sunday attack. … The attack happened on the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Shavuot and barely a week after a man who also yelled “Free Palestine” was charged with fatally shooting two Israeli embassy staffers outside a Jewish museum in Washington.” AP
